Marian University

Indianapolis, Indiana

Size: 8,800 sqft. | Completion: Spring 2018

Vision

Marian University is a gem in the higher education market in Indianapolis. This institution has grown in stature and student population by opening new, community-desired academic programs and by raising the bar in their athletic pursuits. As a direct result of these initiatives, student housing has expanded and the need for food venues for students living on campus and commuters spending their days on campus has increased significantly.

Design

A hybrid all-you-care-to-eat / retail food venue is a key component in the expansion and renovation of the Center for Student Success in Life, Learning, and Leadership facility. RDG got to work re-imagining the 8,800 sq. ft. space to incorporate the booming growth the school knew was coming and focus on fresh, vibrant foods that the students were demanding.

Impact

This renovation of the original kitchen and reinvention of the serving space have combined with a revived student commons area to utilize 9,000 sq ft in an efficient, functional, and aesthetically beautiful combination.
